Assessment of Strengths, Weaknesses, Needs, and Five Year Plans -- III. INSTITUTIONAL STATISTICS -- [FINANCIAL REPORT] -- The fiscal year 1979-80 was a very busy period in the history of the college. The institution was engaged in an Institutional Self- Study for reaffirmation of accreditation by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. -- slight decline in the enrollment of students in the credit program -- slight decline in enrollment for courses and programs offered through the Division of Continuing Education and Community Services. Director position vacant. -- Two new allied health programs: Licensed Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology. -- The year was devoted to efforts toward strengthening and solidifying existing programs and activities. efforts were made to emphasize the transfer programs [to 4-year colleges], to balance the local perception of vocational/technical and terminal degrees -- Areas needing improvement with solutions underway also include academic advisement, faculty evaluation, and enhancement of the evening program. -- Brunswick College Foundation doubled the number of incentive scholarships to be awarded to outstanding students, from seven to fourteen beginning in the fall quarter, 1980. -- Seaswells, the faculty-student literary publication, was perhaps the best of the thirteen editions thus far.
