Abstract

SUMMARY STATEMENT -- FACULTY -- STUDENTS -- LIBRARY -- GENERAL INFORMATION -- COMPUTER -- NEW CONSTRUCTION UNDERWAY OR COMPLETED DURING THE YEAR -- GIFTS AND GRANTS RECEIVED IN SUPPORT OF THE COLLEGE -- FINANCIAL REPORT -- The fiscal year 1975-76 may be considered as an eventful year for Brunswick Junior College. From a positive standpoint: 1. instructional space more than doubled, and faculty now have office space. 2. Acquired 100 acres 3. student enrollment all time high (1277 students). -- From a negative standpoint, financial crisis in state revenue which caused the deletion of faculty and staff salary increases for the 1975-76 fiscal year. Later, however, through court action, the salary increases were restored, but with no increase in funding. -- New programs in auto mechanics, machine shop and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (hvac). -- One of the major accomplishments of the library staff this year has been the centralization of all audiovisual equipment and the development of a delivery system to provide support services to faculty. -- increasing workload on college personnel, especially in the areas of plant maintenance, clerical and secretarial, auxiliary services, and business operations. -- One of the most serious and debilitating conditions facing our institution is the erosion of faculty and classified personnel salaries and fringe benefits caused by inadequate salary increases and economic inflation.
