Building
for Future Education
Three months ago, The Brunswick News graciously allowed me to write a
guest column explaining Georgia's challenging financial situation and
the potential budget cuts being faced by the College of Coastal
Georgia. At that time, the state's public higher education system was
being targeted for possible state funds reductions of 30 percent

Summer Program
Wraps up 17th Year

Program at College of Coastal Georgia as a seventh grader, he never
thought about pursuing a college degree.

College's
Economic Footprint Grows
College of Coastal Georgia's economic impact on Glynn
County is continuing to grow.
Even when it was just a two-year institution, the college yielded an
economic impact of $74.4 million during fiscal year 2008-2009.
College officials expect that number to be higher this time next year
now that the college has four-year status.
"Certainly each step we add is going to mean the impact is
greater," said Valerie Hepburn, president of College of Coastal
Georgia. "(Nearly $75 million) is huge for this community."

It's Picture Day
It's not too early to start thinking about what you will wear for
your 2010-2011 staff photo. The Advancement Office will be taking new
staff photos for all faculty and staff in August.
At Launch on August 11, a studio will be set up in the Conference Center
for a quick photo opportunity. Plan on stopping in prior to Launch or
set up a time with the Advancement Office later in the month.
